Hendy Group is set to expand its Nissan operations in the south with the acquisition of West Way Nissan in Southampton.
Chief executive Paul Hendy said the acquisition is due to complete in the next few weeks and will see all employees at West Way Nissan transfer to Hendy Group.
Ongoing investment in the Nissan brand in Hampshire will see the dealership relocate to brand new facilities in Eastleigh where development work is due to start shortly.
“This is another important milestone in the continued growth of Hendy Group and another positive step for us and our representation of the Nissan brand,” he said.
“Initially we will continue operating from its current site before transferring to brand new state of the art facilities in St George’s Way, adjacent to our current Honda, Mazda and Kia dealerships and close to our successful FordStore,” added Paul.
The West Way Nissan dealership is one of 13 nationwide being sold by Nissan GB and Paul said the addition of the Southampton business to the Hendy portfolio comes at an exciting time for the Japanese brand which is a leading manufacturer in the move to electric vehicles.
“The addition of this new business is a further example of our strategic growth and by investing in new facilities for the brand we are demonstrating long-term commitment to Nissan and its products,” added Paul. “We already run successful Nissan operations in Dorset and Wiltshire so to add Hampshire makes perfect sense for the business.”
The acquisition of West Way Nissan in Southampton is due to complete by early August and Paul said he was looking forward to welcoming new colleagues to Team Hendy. “All employees at West Way in Southampton will be transferring to Hendy Group and we look forward to welcoming them and their outstanding customer service and expertise.”
